YOUR DAY FRIDAY: Study finds childcare expenses exceed mortgage or rent for many U.S. families
09. 06. 2025

The average cost of care for an infant exceeds the cost of in-state college tuition in forty-one states. In many parts of the country, parents pay more for childcare than a mortgage or rent, putting formal care financially out of reach for many middle and low-income families.
A new report by Roosevelt Institute, Community Change and Economic Security Project outlines a different path forward.
President of the Economic Security Project Natalie Foster sat down with Your Day Friday morning to discuss the new report and how we can make childcare more affordable for all families.
