Community Change and ESP host a roundtable with labor and community organizers, policy advocates, researchers, and other movement practitioners

Community Change and Economic Security Project hosted a virtual roundtable with labor and community organizers, policy advocates, researchers, and other movement practitioners to explore the dynamic between guaranteed income and labor power with an emphasis on the following:

  • A framework for understanding the power-building potential that workers across the country could access through a broader suite of guaranteed income policies.
  • Assessing the value of the labor power frame for narrative strategies that make the idea of guaranteed income more broadly resonant.
  • Brainstorming organizing strategies around guaranteed income policy campaigns at state/local level that would more directly shore up labor power.
  • Continue to grow relationships between labor, community organizers, fiscal policy experts, and academics focused on guaranteed income policy that grows labor.
